Dynaformer, who stands at Robert N. Clay’s Three Chimneys Farm near Midway, Ky., has reached the 100 mark by number of stakes winners. On May 9, his daughter Dynaskill won the Margaret Currey Henley Sport of Queens Hurdle Stakes at Percy Warner to become her sire’s 100th stakes winner. On May 16, stakes winner 101 came along when another Dynaformer jumper, Tax Ruling, captured the National Hunt Cup Hurdle Stakes (NSA-II) at Malvern.
Dynaformer, one of this decade’s most successful sires, is enjoying another good year. The 24-year-old son of Roberto is represented by seven stakes winners, including grade III winners Gozzip Girl and Social Queen. The latter won the Gallorette Handicap (gr. IIIT) on the Preakness undercard.
During his lengthy career at stud, Dynaformer has sired 2006 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) winner Barbaro, English champions Ocean Silk and Lucarno, and such other grade I winners as Perfect Drift, Film Maker, and Riskaverse.
Dynaformer, who is out of the His Majesty mare Andover Way, stood his first several years at Nathan Fox’s Wafare Farm near Midway before he was moved to Three Chimneys. His fee this year is $150,000.
