NetJets, the world’s leading private aviation company, will partner with the New York Racing Association for the second consecutive year on an extensive, multi-tiered presence at Saratoga for the 2009 racing season. The deal includes a race sponsorship, advertising, and exclusive hospitality. The 2009 race meeting runs from July 29 to September 7.
NetJets will be the presenting sponsor of the world’s premier grade I dirt sprint for 3-year-olds, the $250,000 NetJets King’s Bishop Stakes to be run August 29 at Saratoga. The winning owner of the King’s Bishop will receive $50,000 in NetJets’ private fractional jet services. NetJets will also again be afforded special access to Saratoga in a premium hospitality package.
“Saratoga is a renowned summer racing venue and NetJets is extremely pleased to continue our partnership with this world-class track,” said Richard T. Santulli, chairman and CEO of NetJets Inc. “The King’s Bishop has established itself as one of the most important fixtures for future stallions. This partnership is a great fit for us, and I look forward to continue making Saratoga a preferred destination for our NetJets owners."
Santulli has been involved in the Thoroughbred racing industry for more than 28 years. He is a trustee of NYRA and has been a trustee of The Jockey Club since 2004. As managing general partner of Jayeff “B” Stables, he raced champion and Breeders’ Cup Sprint (gr. I) winner Safely Kept.
"Rich Santulli has always been a great horseman and supporter of racing," said NYRA president and CEO Charles Hayward. "Through his outstanding hospitality and promotion, he has introduced many new fans to the sport and we are delighted NetJets is renewing its partnership with NYRA in 2009."
