An Anabaa – Botticelli Chic colt brought Aust$140,000 (approximately $111,196 in U.S. funds) to top the second session of yearling portion of the Magic Millions national sale June 10 on the Gold Coast of Australia. Singapore-based buyer Mark Yong purchased the colt from Attunga Stud.

The results for the first two sessions included a gross of Aust$5,531,000 ($4,393,052) for the 249 horses that sold. The average price was Aust$22,213 ($17,643), and the clearance rate was 78.3%.

"It's been a good two days (of) selling," said Magic Millions managing director David Chester said. "The quality individuals sold well, and we had buyers operating at all levels of the market. It was good to see such a good spread of international buyers --  from New Zealand, South Africa, Singapore, Macau, Korea, and the Philippines in particular.

"Under the current economic conditions we have been pleased with the proceedings over the eight days of the national dale to date and hope it continues tomorrow. There are some nice yearling prospects to go under the hammer during the third session before a quality racehorse catalog is offered."
