Seven incumbents are among the 13 individuals elected to the Breeders’ Cup board of members and trustees for three-year terms, the organization announced June 16.
The election results, confirmed by TrueBallot, are expected to be ratified when the board of members and trustees meets July 9.
The 13 top vote-getters are Richard Santulli (20,808), Clem Murphy (20,338), Oliver Tait (17,426), Dan Pride (12,765), Jack Brothers (12,747), Bill Casner (12,648), Tom Ludt (12,322), Rob Whiteley (12,157), Ogden Mills Phipps (12,107), Reiley McDonald (11,978), Duncan Taylor (11,018), John Sikura (10,544), and John Amerman (10,262).
The incumbents were Santulli, Murphy, Pride, Ludt, Phipps, Sikura, and Amerman.
Another 12 individuals sought board seats in the election. They are Nadia Sanan Briggs, Case Clay, Lincoln Collins, Donald Dizney, Tracy Farmer, H. Greg Goodman, George Isaacs, Michael McMahon, Andre Regard, Joseph V. Shields Jr., Robert Trussell Jr., and Jack Wolf. Dizney and Famer were incumbents.
The number of votes received by those not elected to the board was not released by The Breeders' Cup.
The board of members and trustees consists of 48 individuals elected by Breeders’ Cup foal and stallion nominators through a proportional shareholder voting system. The board of members and trustees votes on the Breeders’ Cup board of directors; six will be elected at the July 9 meeting.
