The 2009 National Horsemen’s Benevolence and Protective Association will hold its Winter Convention in conjunction with the Symposium on Racing & Gaming at the Westin La Paloma Resort in Tucson, Arizona this year.

The HBPA will hold its convention Dec. 4-7, with the Symposium scheduled for Dec. 7-10.

"In view of the economic situation, it just made sense to coordinate our Winter Convention with the Symposium on Racing & Gaming," said Remi Bellocq, CEO for the National HBPA.

"We are pleased and excited to work with the HBPA to coordinate the conferences," said Doug Reed, director of the Race Track Industry Program. "It makes great sense not only economically but also attendees of both conferences can expand their networking opportunities."

The 36th Symposium on Racing & Gaming will be held at the Westin La Paloma Resort in Tucson Arizona, December 7-10. The Symposium, held every December since 1974, attracts attendees representing all the stakeholders in the pari-mutuel racing industry.
