Danehill Dancer Sires 100th Stakes Winner

The good news is that he needs only 252 more stakes winner to tie Danehill

Irish champion Danehill Dancer became the first son of the great Danehill to reach the 100 mark by number of stakes winners. Now he needs only 252 more stakes winners to tie Danehill.

Danehill Dancer’s 100th stakes winner is the 3-year-old filly Latin Love. Irish-bred Latin Love won the Aug. 3 Platinum Stakes at a mile at Cork in Ireland for Susan Magnier and Michael Tabor. Magnier’s husband, John Magnier, is the managing partner of Coolmore Stud, where 16-year-old Danehill Dancer stands and where deceased Danehill stood. Danehill died at age 17 in the spring of 2003.

Latin Love, out of the Be My Guest mare Ho Hi The Moon, is bred 4x3 to Danehill’s grandsire, Northern Dancer. Be My Guest is by Northern Dancer.

Like his sire, Danehill Dancer sired runners conceived in both Ireland and Australia. His stakes winners include such champions as Again, Aleagueoftheirown, Anna Pavlova, Choisir, Callwood Dancer, Mastercraftsman, Nordtanzerin, Private Steer, Speciosa.

Danehill Dancer, out of the Sharpen Up mare Mira Adonde, was Ireland’s champion 2-year-old male of 1995.
