She Be Wild Leads Field for Arlington Lassie

Winner of the Top Flight Stakes for Wayne Catalano faces eight rivals at one mile.

Unbeaten She Be Wild, winner of the Top Flight Stakes and two-for-two in her career on the Arlington Park Polytrack, leads a field of nine entered for the $150,000 Arlington-Washington Lassie Stakes (gr. III) for 2-year-old fillies Sept. 5.

Wayne Catalano trains the homebred daughter of Offlee Wild for owner Nancy Mazzoni. Arlington Park leading rider Junior Albarado, who has been aboard the dark bay filly in both of her prior starts, retains the mount. They will break from post 6 in the one-mile test with top impost of 118 pounds.

She Be Wild, who dominated the seven-furlong Top Flight by 5 1/4 lengths Aug. 8 at odds of 7-1, is the lone stakes winner in the field. She began her career at Arlington May 30 with a 7 1/4-length victory over maidens at the $40,000 claiming level.

Trainer Bret Calhoun has entered a pair, including Deceptive Glory. The daughter of Honour and Glory  finished a disappointing eighth in the Top Flight as part of a favored entry after breaking her maiden at first asking by 2 1/2 lengths July 4. Calhoun's other entrant is Highest Power, who drubbed a maiden field at Louisiana Downs by 10 lengths in her debut Aug. 7.

Also coming out of the Top Flight is the Steve Asmussen trainee Gabba Girl, who finished fourth.

Attempt to Name, Screen Legend, Thats Whatshesaid and Tiz Miz Sue all enter off maiden victories at Arlington. Suzanne also broke her maiden in her most recent start at Monmouth Park.

The Arlington-Washington Lassie is one of three grade III events on the Arlington card Sept. 5, joining the $200,000 Washington Park Handicap and the $150,000 Arlington-Washington Futurity.
