Son of Alphabet Soup won the rich Golden Shaheen in Dubai

California freshman stallion Our New Recruit died Sept. 1 of colic, a dozen days after he was represented by his first winner. The 10-year-old son of Alphabet Soupstood at Pete and Evelyn Parrella’s Legacy Ranch near Clements, Calif.

Campaigned by C R K Stable, Our New Recruit earned $1.2 million of his career total of $1,470,915 when he won the 2004 Gulf News Dubai Golden Shaheen (UAE-I). He earned a Dubai sprint championship off that effort.

In North America, Our New Recruit captured the 2004 Pirate’s Bounty Handicap at Del Mar and twice was stakes-placed.

For his career, Our New Recruit won or placed in 15 of 19 races while trained by John Sadler.

Our New Recruit’s first winner, At the Front, won Aug. 19 at Del Mar. Our New Recruit’s second winner, Very Fair, won two days later.
