'Bracket Battles' Return to bloodhorse.com

Fans can register for weekly prizes and a grand prize of a trip to the Breeders' Cup.

BloodHorse.com has announced the return of the interactive game "Breeders’ Cup Bracket Battles" presented by Youbet.com. Beginning Oct. 1, and for the five-week period leading up to this year’s Breeders’ Cup World Championships, Nov. 6-7 at Santa Anita Park, Thoroughbred racing fans can cast their votes to determine "the greatest Breeders’ Cup champion of all-time."

Selected by The Blood-Horse staff, 32 horses (16 colts, 16 fillies) have been placed into a bracket (similar to college basketball’s "March Madness" brackets). Fans can vote weekly for their favorites, deciding which horse among each head-to-head matchup was the better champion. The horses receiving the most votes in each bracket will advance to the next round of 16, then eight, then four, and ultimately down to the final two, and ultimately, one champion.

Fans can cast their votes and register for a chance to win weekly and the Grand Prize from Youbet.com. Each week, 10 players will win an all-access pass to Youbet.com premier-level products. These advanced tools give those in the business an enhanced ability to track their own horses and keep an eye on the competition—live. Players who register by midnight Oct. 25, will also have a shot at the Grand Prize: two tickets to the 2009 Breeders’ Cup. All horseplayers are welcome to register to participate by visiting: http://www.BloodHorse.com/Bracket-Battles .

"Youbet.com has long been known for the best handicapping and wagering tools in the business. But we wanted to partner with BloodHorse.com to showcase for owners and breeders that Youbet.com is the best platform to track and watch your horses run," said Mark Midland, Youbet.com’s vice president of racing and business development. "Youbet.com features the highest quality video at over 180 tracks domestically and internationally, the most available on any ADW platform."

Voters can also discuss and debate their picks with the rest of the BloodHorse.com community.
