Art Connoisseur to Irish National Stud

Stud also plans to stand Invincible Spirit for 45,000 euros

Group I-winning sprinter Art Connoisseurhas been retired from racing to stand at the Irish National Stud. His fee is 7,000 euros (approximately $10,300).

A dual Royal Ascot winner, the Irish-bred 3-year-old son of Lucky Storywon the Coventry Stakes (Eng-II) at 2 and returned in 2009 to capture the Golden Jubilee Stakes (Eng-I). Racing in the colors of Richard Green, Art Connoisseur was the co-third, top-rated 2-year-old colt in Europe in 2008. He retired with four wins from 11 starts and earnings of $677,873.

A grandson of Kris S. out of a Danehill mare (Withorwithoutyou), Art Connoisseur is bred on a similar cross as successful Kentucky stallion Arch. Cartier Award winner Balanchine appears under his third dam.

The deal to stand Art Connoisseur was brokered by Luke Lillingston of Kern Lillingston Association.

The Irish National Stud also announced fees for Amadeus Wolf(8,000 euros), Indian Haven(6,000 euros),Invincible Spirit (45,000 euros), Jeremy (8,000 euros), Rakti (5,000 euros), and Verglas (10,000 euros).
