Diabolical to A & A in New Mexico

Millionaire and grade II winner will stand in New Mexico

Diabolical, a grade II winner and millionaire, will stand at Fred Alexander’s A & A Ranch near Anthony, N.M. A fee will announced later.

Six-year-old Diabolical won or placed in 22 of 32 races and earned $1,467,401. He finished in the top three in 19 stakes in four different countries.

Diabolical recorded triple digit Beyer Speed Figures in three consecutive graded stakes in 2007. He started with 107 Beyer in a runner-up effort in the Carter Handicap (gr. I) at Aqueduct. He then won the Emirates Airline Maryland Sprint Handicap (gr. III) at Pimlico with a 110 Beyer and the Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap (gr. II) at Saratoga with a 107 Beyer.

Diabolical was a group III winner in Dubai, group I stakes-placed in Singapore and Dubai, and group II stakes-placed in England. In 2008, he ran second in the inaugural Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint.

A $300,000 Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co.’s February 2-year-old, Diabolical raced the first part of his career for Steve Puglisi in partnership with trainer Steve Klesaris and the second part for Godolphin, an entity founder by Sheikh Mohammed.

A son of Artax, Diabolical is out of the Dayjur mare Bonnie Byerly. His second dam is grade I winner Plenty of Grace.
