This is to serve as a reminder that Blood-Horse Publications will publish a combined issue of The Blood-Horse, dated Dec. 26, 2009-Jan. 2, 2010 that will feature a “Year in Review,” recapping the top Thoroughbred industry stories of 2009, and include a 2009 “Auctions Digest." The issue will go to press Dec. 28.
Also included will be The Blood-Horse senior correspondent Steve Haskin’s personal viewpoint of the entire decade, 2000-09.
The “Auctions Digest of 2009” includes detailed hip-by-hip information -- organized by sire -- on weanlings, yearlings, juveniles, and broodmares sold at all major North American sales. The 100-page section will include every transaction from January to December. The issue will automatically be mailed
to The Blood-Horse subscribers and be available on newsstands beginning Dec. 29.
“Combined issues have become routine in the publishing world, and weekly publications such as People, BusinessWeek, and Sports Illustrated now publish various combined issues,” publisher Stacy V. Bearse said. “This year, we also decided to muster our resources to produce a blockbuster issue that will go to press on Dec. 28 and be received by subscribers on or about Jan. 1. Of course, BloodHorse.com and our electronic newsletters will continue to deliver up-to-the-minute news and analysis.”
