Hall of Fame jockey Eddie Delahoussaye, who retired on Jan.13 due to injuries suffered in a spill at Del Mar last Aug. 30, was a visitor Wednesday at Santa Anita where he said he has embarked on a career as a bloodstock agent.
"I've just been kicking back and stuff," the 51-year-old Delahoussaye said. "I went back home to New Iberia, Lafayette, New Orleans (Louisiana) and Texas. I tried to make some connections in Louisiana, which I did, as far as becoming a bloodstock agent and buying horses for people. Hopefully, I picked up a couple of clients. We'll see what happens later on."
Concerning his physical health, Delahoussaye said his neck is still bothersome.
"I still have problems with my neck at night," he said. "It's going to take some time."
