After gathering a consensus from horsemen, Turfway Park has reversed a previous decision regarding the Likely Exchange Stakes and has rescheduled the $50,000 race for Feb. 13.
According to a release, nominations will close Feb. 10, at 12 p.m., and entries will be taken Feb. 11. The one-mile Likely Exchange is carded for fillies and mares, 4 years old and up.
“The decision came down to good customer service,” said track president Robert Elliston in a statement. “The horsemen are our customers and some have prepared horses based on our stakes schedule. After hearing from them we decided we could best serve them by rescheduling this race.”
The race originally was scheduled as part of the Feb. 6 card, which was canceled due to complications from the weekend’s winter storm.
The Dust Commander Stakes, a mile race for older horses, also will run Feb. 13 as originally scheduled. First post that day is 1:10 p.m.
