IEAH Buys Out Lanzman in Stardom Bound

Parties continue to negotiate possible buyout of Lanzman interest in I Want Revenge.

IEAH Stables has bought out David Lanzman’s interest in champion Stardom Bound, according to Daily Racing Form, which interviewed both parties Feb. 12. The publication also reported that negotiations are continuing for IEAH to buy out Lanzman’s half-interest in grade I winner I Want Revenge .

Michael Iavarone, president of IEAH, told the Form that his group paid Lanzman $1.425 million for his quarter interest in Stardom Bound Feb. 8. She is scheduled to run in the Feb. 14 La Canada Stakes (gr. II) at Santa Anita Park in Southern California.

When IEAH purchased a half-interest in I Want Revenge last March, it sold a quarter-interest in Stardom Bound to Lanzman. IEAH had purchased Stardom Bound for $5.7 million at the 2008 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky November select mixed auction. I Want Revenge won the Wood Memorial (gr. I) following the deal’s finalization, but was scratched from the 2009 Kentucky Derby Presented By Yum! Brands (gr. I) the morning of the race because of an injury and hasn’t competed since.

The Form reported that I Want Revenge was relocated from Le Croix Farm in Kentucky to Emerald Farm in the same state Feb. 11. Iavarone told the publication that veterinarians are examining I Want Revenge and their findings will help him decide whether to buy out Lanzman’s interest in the runner.
