Motovato, winner of the Kenny Noe Jr. Handicap (gr. III) in December, has been purchased by Team Valor International and Gary Barber from the Estate of Edmund Gann.
A 5-year-old son of Proud Citizen, Motovato has won five of 14 starts and been in the money five times, with earnings of $234,179. Trained by Marty Wolfson, Motovato also won the Primal and Sumter stakes, both at Calder, placed second in that track’s Spend a Buck Handicap (gr. III), and was third in the Gulfstream Park Sprint Championship Handicap (gr. III).
Team Valor CEO Barry Irwin said Motovato will remain with Wolfson and be pointed toward the $300,000 Gulfstream Park Handicap (gr. II) on March 13.
Barber, a Southern California film producer, has raced many horses in partnership with Team Valor, including grade/group I winners Sweet Stream, Becrux, The Deputy, Golden Ballet, and Gitano Hernando.
