Old Fashioned's First Two Mares in Foal

Stakes producer Rare Bird and Destiny's Yield confirmed from stallion's debut book.

Fox Hill Farm’s Old Fashioned has been confirmed to have his first two mares in foal from his debut book at stud. Graded stakes producer Rare Bird and Destiny’s Yield were both recently pronounced in foal to the 4-year-old son of Unbridled's Song.

Rare Bird, by Rahy, is the dam of grade III winner Host ($269,455), among others. She is owned by Larry Byer’s Byerpatch Farm. Destiny’s Yield, a daughter of High Yield and half-sister to multiple stakes winner Brush Over, is owned by Bill Grube’s Destiny Oaks of Ocala, FL. She hails from the family of Irish Two Thousand Guineas (Ire-I) winner Shaadi.

Old Fashioned was undefeated as a juvenile in 2008, winning the Remsen Stakes (gr. II). At 3, he captured the Southwest Stakes (gr. III), retiring with earnings of $583,280. He is standing his first season at stud at Taylor Made Stallions in Nicholasville, KY as a Taylor Made Stallions/Fox Hill Farm venture. His fee is $12,500 stands and nurses.
