Mastercraftsman to Windsor Park

Son of Danehill Dancer will stand the Southern Hemisphere season in New Zealand

European champion Mastercraftsman, who stands at stud at John Magnier and partners’ Coolmore Stud in Ireland, will stand the Southern Hemisphere breeding season at Windsor Park Stud in New Zealand. The March 31 announcement came following news that another Coolmore stallion, High Chaparral, would not return to Windsor Park for the Southern Hemisphere season and instead would stand at Coolmore Australia.

Four-year-old Mastercraftsman (Danehill Dancer—Starlight Dreams, by Black Tie Affair) was a Cartier Award winner and an Irish championship at 2. As a 3-year-old, he was a classic winner in Ireland and a group I winner in England. Mastercraftsman ended his career with a fourth-place effort in the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (gr. I) last November.

“Whichever way you dissect him, Mastercraftsman ticks all the boxes we look for in a stallion prospect, and we are proud to have a horse of his quality performance and pedigree to offer New Zealand breeders,” said Nelson Schick of Windsor Park.

Mastercraftsman’s fee at Coolmore is 20,000 euros. His fee at Windsor Park will be $NZ25,000.
