The Coolmore Lexington Stakes (gr. II) attracted 41 nominations for 29th running of the $300,000 event for 3-year-olds going 1 1/16 miles on the Keeneland Polytrack April 17.
WinStar Farm won the race last year with Advice and could be in good position to repeat should Drosselmeyer be entered. Drosselmeyer, who has finished fourth in the Risen Star (gr. II) and third in the Louisiana Derby (gr. II), has $87,000 in graded stakes earnings and would need a victory in the Lexington to secure a berth in the starting gate for the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) that is reserved for the top 20 horses entered based on graded stakes earnings.
