For the second time in seven weeks, the 2009 Horse of the Year loses in stretch duel.

For the second time in seven weeks, 2009 Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra lost a stretch duel when Unrivaled Belle outfought her to post a 9-1 upset over the prohibitive favorite in the $400,000 La Troienne Stakes (gr. II) on Kentucky Oaks day at Churchill Downs April 30.

Kent Desormeaux drove Unrivaled Belle to victory in the 1 1/16-mile event for trainer Bill Mott and owners Peter Vegso and Gary Seidler. The daughter of Unbridled's Song--Queenie Belle, by Bertrando, posted her fifth lifetime win in eight starts.
