Keeneland president and CEO Nick Nicholson announced June 18 that Bill Thomason, a long-time financial administrator and leader in the equine industry, will be the company’s new chief financial officer.
Thomason replaces Jessica Green, Keeneland’s treasurer, who announced this week that she would be leaving the racetrack and sales company to take an executive management position with Fayette Heating and Air.
“Jessica Green will be deeply missed. She has brought a level of professionalism, expertise and integrity to a critical position for many years. She will always be considered part of the Keeneland family,” Nicholson said.
“At the same time, I am pleased that a person the quality of Bill Thomason is joining our leadership team. Bill has incomparable experience in both the financial and equine sectors. We are lucky to attract someone with his depth of knowledge, skills and reputation. It’s a challenging time in our industry. Involving people like Bill Thomason in key leadership positions is vitally important.”
Nicholson said Green will help with a transition period as Thomason comes on board with his new role at Keeneland.
Thomason will officially start July 1. Thomason joins Keeneland after 28 years as financial and administrative manager at Mill Ridge Farm.
