Shared Account Wears 'em Down in All Along

It was the second graded stakes win for the 4-year-old filly.

Shared Account, the 2-1 choice, finally ran down pacesetter Tizaqueena after chasing her through the stretch, posting a one-length victory in the $150,000 All Along Stakes (gr. IIIT) (VIDEO) for fillies and mares June 19 at Colonial Downs.

Ridden by Edgar Prado for trainer Graham Motion, Shared Account scored her first win as a 4-year-old and her second stakes overall. The daughter of Pleasantly Perfect triumphed in the Lake Placid (gr. IIT) at Saratoga last year. Sagamore Farm owns the bay filly.
Shared Account raced mid-pack in a field of seven while Tizaqueena led the way through splits of :24.53, :49.66, and 1:13.59 under E. T. Baird. Casablanca Smile pressed the pace and those two hit the quarter-pole first. But Shared Account was not far behind from a three-wide striking position as they entered the stretch.
Tizaqueena gamely held onto her narrow lead approaching the sixteenth-pole, but Shared Account eventually wore her down, hitting the wire comfortably in front while stopping the clock in 1:49.16 for nine furlongs on the firm turf. Dynaslew came from off the pace to win a three-way photo for second, a nose in front of Tizaqueena, who dead-heated with Casablanca Smile for show.
Shared Account turned in a solid effort in her only other start at Colonial Downs, missing by a head to Blind Date in the Virginia Oaks (gr. IIIT) a year ago. In her only start this season, she was fourth, beaten less than a length, in the May 15 Gallorette Handicap (gr. IIIT) at Pimlico. Overall, she is 5-3-1 from 12 starts with earnings of $446,560. The filly was bred in Kentucky by William A. Carl and is out of the Smart Strike mare Silk n’ Sapphire.

The winner paid $6, $3, and $2.10. The exacta (5-1) returned $23.80 and the trifecta (5-1-3) was $31.
