Ibboyee is the 4-5 morning-line choice for the $150,000 New York Derby at Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack July 17. The bay colt will be vying for his third consecutive Finger Lakes victory in the 1 1/16-mile event for New York-bred 3-year-olds. A field of seven was drawn.

Ibboyee won the Aspirant Stakes and the New York Breeders’ Futurity in 2009. He scored both convincing victories by over six lengths. This year, the son of Medallist   has been graded stakes placed three times and notched his lone victory in the Spend a Buck Stakes at Monmouth Park in May.
The $498,298 earner owned by Anstu Stables is the only entrant in the race who ran in the Mike Lee Stakes at Belmont Park on June 20. He finished third in the seven-furlong event which is the first leg of the Big Apple Triple.
The Todd Pletcher trainee will be ridden by jockey Michael Luzzi and carry top weight of 124 pounds.
The New York Derby is the second leg of the Big Apple Triple. The series concludes with the $150,000 Albany Stakes at Saratoga on Aug. 25.
