Jockey Rajiv Maragh was discharged from the hospital hours after being thrown from his mount, Pico Dinero, at Saratoga Aug. 18.
Maragh fell to the ground when his mount, in tight quarters, stumbled and lost his footing on the backstretch in the seventh race at Saratoga, a one-mile maiden claiming race on the inner turf course.
The 25-year-old Jamaican native was alert and taken by ambulance to Albany Medical Center, where x-rays were negative. He will follow up with doctors Aug. 19 and potentially could be cleared to ride.
After the fall, Pico Dinero regained his feet and galloped toward the wire, apparently uninjured.
