A.P. Indy Filly RNAs for $1,250,000

The A.P. Indy filly was bought back by her breeder, Mt. Brilliant Broodmares.

An A.P. Indy filly failed to meet her reserve when the bidding stopped at $1,250,000 during the Sept. 13 select session of the Keeneland September yearling sale.

The filly was bred in Kentucky by Mt. Brilliant Broodmares, which consigned the filly to the sale as agent and plans to retain her as a racemare. The filly is out of the stakes-winning Unbridled mare Private Gift, and is also from the family of Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) winner Secret Status.

“We had a price we would have sold her for, and that just wasn’t it,” said Mt. Brilliant’s Greg Goodman, who owns A.P. Indy filly’s dam Private Gift with Orrin Ingram. “We’ve loved (the A.P. Indy) since the day she was born…the price was close, but not there,” said Goodman.

“We decided if we couldn’t sell her for the price we put on her, we liked her enough to keep her. (Private Gift) has a (2-year-old) A.P. Indy filly that’s beautiful too, so we had a lot of options.”
