Valor Farm Adds Two New Stallions

Valor Farm is adding two new stallions to its roster for the upcoming 2011 season.

Silver City, a stakes-winning son of Unbridled's Song, and Clarence Scharbauer Jr.’s stakes producing homebred Jet Phone, will enter stud at Scharbauer Jr.’s Valor Farm near Pilot Point, Texas for the 2011 season.

Silver City, a 4-year-old gray/roan horse who won the 2009 Dixieland Stakes at Oaklawn Park and finished second in that year’s Southwest Stakes (gr. III), closed his career with a record of 4-1-1 from eight starts and earnings of $181,930. Silver City was originally purchased for $700,000 by Scharbauer at the 2007 Keeneland September yearling sale.

Out of the stakes-placed Mt. Livermore mare Proposal, Silver City is a half brother to stakes winners Elope and Initiation. He will stand at Valor for a fee of $2,000.

Jet Phone was lightly raced at 2, 3, and 4, winning three of nine starts and earning $30,115. His first and only foal to run, Aces N Kings, is a multiple stakes winner. Aces N Kings has won five of six starts as a 2-year-old this year and has earnings of $133,438.

Aces N Kings' stakes victories include the TTA Stakes Futurity at Lone Star Park, and the Minstrel and Sunny’s Halo at Louisiana Downs. In his most recent outing, Aces N Kings was second by a head in the Sunday Silence Stakes at Louisiana Downs Sept. 25. He will run in the $1 million Delta Jackpot (gr. III) at Delta Downs next month.

Jet Phone, a son of Phone Trick out of the Alydarmare Jet Route,  will stand for a fee of $1,500.
