Awesome of Course to Stand at Journeyman

Stakes-winning of Awesome Again previously stood in Oklahoma.

Awesome of Course, sire of Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) winner and Fasig-Tipton November sale topper Awesome Feather, will stand the 2011 season at Brent and Crystal Fernung’s Journeyman Stud in Ocala, Florida. The fee will be $5,000.

A multiple stakes-winning 10-year-old son of Awesome Again , Awesome of Course stood the 2010 season at Legend Farm in Coleman, Oklahoma for a $1,750 fee.

From 26 named foals, Awesome of Course has been represented by 20 starters, 15 winners, and four stakes horses.

Bred in Florida by Fred Brei’s Jacks Or Better Farm, Awesome Feather is undefeated in six starts this year, five of them stakes. Two days after her Breeders’ Cup success, Awesome Feather was purchased by Frank Stronach for $2.3 million at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky November Breeding Stock Sale.

“He’s from the first crop by Awesome Again, and we had followed his career, from his stakes victory at two to his multiple stakes wins at three,” Brent Fernung said. “He sired a pretty good stakes winner in his first crop, Honey Honey Honey. But Awesome Feather is in another league all together, and her sale price proves he can be commercial as well. We expect he’ll draw plenty of interest from breeders.”
