Stakes-winning Get Ready Bertie, in foal to Majestic Warrior, sold for $170,000 to headline the Nov. 15 session of the Keeneland November breeding stock sale.
Australian bloodstock agent Vin Cox purchased the 6-year-old mare by More Than Ready out of multiple graded-stakes winner De Bertie, by De Niro. Get Ready Bertie is a half-sister to Gardenia Handicap (gr. III) winner Whirlie Bertie. She was consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent.
Gross receipts Nov. 15 totaled $3,795,800 for an average of $14,599 and a median of $12,000. Last year for the comparable session, gross sales were $4,902,600 for an average of $20,343 and a median of $13,000.
Through eight sessions, 1,924 horses have been sold for $136,145,600, for an average of $70,762 and a median of $30,000. For the same period in 2009, 1,786 horses brought $150,359,400, for an average of $84,188 and a median of $39,000.
Two horses brought $60,000 for the session’s second-highest price. Gainesway purchased the 6-year-old Unbridled's Song mare Gold Mirage in foal to Kodiak Kowboy. Consigned by Vinery Ltd., agent, Gold Mirage is out of the Storm Cat mare Desert Stormette and a half sister to stakes winner Desert Gold, dam of group 1 winner White Moonstone.
A weanling filly by Kitten's Joy out of the Rubiano mare On Broadway was purchased by Hill ‘n’ Dale Bloodstock from Ramsey Farm.
