Pennsylvania Pony Shot, Police Search for Answers

The Pennsylvania State Police are seeking whoever is responsible for the shooting death of a pony earlier this month.

Pennsylvania State Police Public Information Officer Steve Limani said the pony was discovered by its owners on Dec. 16. The animal had sustained a bullet wound to the head.

"We don't believe it was a stray hunter's shot," Limani said. "We think someone meant to do it."

He declined to disclose further details in the case.

If caught, those responsible could face animal cruelty and other charges, Limani said.

Anyone with information about the incident should call 724/832-6485.
