Ogden Mills Phipps' Storm Flag Flying, the regally-bred filly who was named champion 2-year-old female of 2002, could make her 3-year-old debut in the $100,000 Forward Gal Stakes (gr. III) at Gulfstream Park on March 14.Trainer Shug McGaughey has been training Storm Flag Flying at Payson Park in Indiantown, Fla. and she will soon join McGaughey's stable at Gulfstream."I intend to bring her back slowly," he said. "The most likely is the Forward Gal because they run it at seven furlongs. They run the Bonnie Miss (gr. II at 1 1/8 miles) on the same day, but she probably won't be ready for it."Storm Flag Flying finished her perfect four-for-four juvenile season with a victory in the Long John Silver's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) at Arlington Park last October. The daughter of Storm Cat out of the Easy Goer mare My Flag, also won the Frizette and Matron Stakes (both gr. I) last year and earned $967,000. My Flag won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies in 1995. My Flag's dam, Personal Ensign, finished her career a perfect 13-for-13 and was named champion older mare in 1988 after winning the Breeders' Cup Distaff (gr. I).
