The Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling sale ended Jan. 19 in Australia with a Sequalo colt topping the sixth session. Magic Millions, acting as agent for a Queensland-based client, purchased the bay yearling for Aust$45,000 ($44,811 in U.S. funds) from a consignor identified in the auction’s results as “Smith.”
The session topper is out of the Touch of Vanity mare Excellent Ann, who won 10 of her 54 career races.
The final results for the day included a gross of Aust$1,287,250 ($1,281,830) for the 129 yearlings that were sold. The average price was $9,979 ($9,937), and the median price was $6,625 ($6,597).
The clearance rate was 69.4%.
"Today rounded out a successful six-session sale," said Magic Millions managing director Stephen Silk. "The bargain hunters were out in force and there was great value on offer."
