Grade I Winner K One King to Whispering Oaks

Grade I winner ranks fourth on Louisiana's 2011 sires' list.

Grade I winner K One King , fourth on this year’s Louisiana sires’ list, has been relocated to Whispering Oaks Farm near Carencro, La. Owned by Daniel Thomas and Steve Crowe, K One King will stand for $1,250.

Fifteen-year-old K One King (Apalachee—Tis Michelle, by Native Charger) is represented this year by the earners of more than $100,000. He has lifetime progeny earnings of $1.9 million.

K One King has sired five stakes horses, including King of the Bayou, who won the 2009 Louisiana Cup Juvenile Stakes. K One King also is the sire of King of Jazz, who ran second in the Canadian classic Queen’s Plate Stakes, and earned $288,629.

K One King captured the 2000 Oaklawn Handicap (gr. I) from Dubai World Cup (UAE-I) winner Almutawakel and Breeders’ Cup Classic (gr. I) winner Cat Thief. He earned a career total of $683,010.

K One King formerly stood at Daniel Thomas Farm near Springhill, La.
