Boys At Tosconova Taken Out of Training

Daily Racing Form reports the colt has been sent to a farm in Kentucky.

Boys At Tosconova , who finished second to champion Uncle Mo  in the Grey Goose Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (gr. I) and won the Three Chimneys Hopeful Stakes (gr. I) in 2010, is off the Triple Crown trail for now, the Daily Racing Form reported Feb. 12.

Trainer Rick Dutrow told the publication that the 3-year-old son of Officer had been sent to a farm in Kentucky and would not be back in training for a while.

Boys At Tosconova was being pointed for the Jan. 30 Holy Bull Stakes (gr. III) at Gulfstream Park, but missed that race. Dutrow made the decision to send the colt to the sidelines the week of the race, according to DRF.

“He just wasn’t right,” Dutrow told DRF. “All the tests we took came back negative. I’m not sure what’s bothering him, but he just wasn’t himself. I originally thought it was a knee; it might be an ankle. So we’ll just back off and let him regroup.'

Boys At Tosconova has won two of his four career races and has earned $562,060. His efforts included a victory in last year’s Kentucky Juvenile Stakes (gr. III).
