Chief Seattle to Lake Shore in Indiana

Son of Seattle Slew has sired 27 stakes horses and the earners of $14.5 million.

Chief Seattle, Indiana’s leading sire in 2009-10, has been relocated to another Indiana farm. Formerly at WinRich Thoroughbreds near North Vernon, the 14-year-old son of Seattle Slew will stand at Lake Shore Farm near Scottsburg. His fee is $2,500.

Chief Seattle has sired 27 stake horses, including 2010 grade II winner and millionaire Bold Chieftain. Chief Seattle’s other stakes winners include Canadian champion Shillelagh Slew and grade II winner Seafree.

Chief Seattle is represented by 74% winners from starters and the earners of more than $14.5 million. His average earnings per runner is more than $51,000.

As a racehorse, Chief Seattle ran second in the 1999 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (gr. I) and the Champagne Stakes (gr. I). He is out of the Icecapade mare Skatingonthinice.
