Article of Faith, Five Others to RichWine

Article of Faith is by Storm Cat out of grade I winner Nany's Sweep.

Article of Faith and five other stallions have joined the R Star Stallion roster at RichWine, LLC near Anderson, Ind. All are eligible for the Indiana breed development incentives. The fee for each is $1,000 live foal guarantee.

Seven-year-old Article of Faith is an unraced son of sire of sires Storm Cat out of the grade I stakes-winning End Sweep mare Nany’s Sweep, who earned $499,213. A half brother to graded stakes winner  She’s Indy Money, Article of Faith comes from a female family in which his first three dams are all stakes-winning stakes producers. Third dam Nany won 14 races, including the Vagrancy Handicap (gr. III), and earned $616,526. Article of Faith formerly stood at Southern Indiana Equine.

Nine-year-old Big Atlantic is by former leading 2-year-old sire Stormy Atlantic  out of a Mr. Prospector-line mare, thus he is bred similarly to Hollywood Futurity (gr. I) winner Stormello. Big Atlantic’s dam, unraced Easy to Win (by Fountain of Gold), is a full sister to stakes winner Goldarama, who was graded stakes-placed. Big Atlantic stood his first two seasons in Ohio before moving to Indiana.

Blue Boat, a 12-year-old son of Gulch, earned $112,529 on dirt and turf. Bred by Juddmonte Farms, Blue Boat placed twice in France before scoring three consecutive wins at Belmont and Saratoga. At Saratoga, he defeated subsequent grade II winner Seattle Fitz in a nine-furlong allowance race. A half brother to grade I winner and successful sire Mizzen Mast , Blue Boat is out of the Graustark mare Kinema. Her dam, Mrs. Peterkin, has more than 50 stakes winners under her, including 2010 Horse of the Year Zenyatta and successful sire Shareef Dancer.

Charging Indian is by Indian Charlie, sire of 2010 champion 2-year-old male Uncle Mo, the winter book favorite for the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I). Out of the Marquetry mare Charging Water, Charging Indian is bred similarly to Indian Charlie’s other champions, Indian Blessing and Fleet Indian, who also are out of Mr. Prospector-line mares. Undefeated in his first four starts, Charging Indian scored wins from 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 furlongs on dirt and turf at Fair Grounds, Keeneland, and Oaklawn Park.

Drinkwiththedevil  is a son of twice leading sire Smart Strike, whose 74 stakes winners are headed by dual Horse of the Year and North America’s top money earner Curlin . Like Curlin, Drinkwiththedevil also is out of a Deputy Minister mare. Placed at 2 in his only start, Drinkwiththedevil is a half brother to stakes-placed fillies Xtra Heart and Honour Old Glory. His female family traces to matriarch Rare Perfume through grade II winner Crowned.

A son of two-time leading sire A.P. Indy, Ocean Indy is out of the multiple stakes producing Mr. Prospector mare Soundings. He is a half brother to four stakes winners, including European champion Pas de Reponse and European highweight Green Tune. Ocean Indy was bred on the proven A.P. Indy/Mr. Prospector cross that has produced successful sires Malibu Moon , Pulpit, Mineshaft , and 2010 leading first-crop sire Congrats . His third dam, South Ocean, produced Storm Bird, sire of Storm Cat.
