Richard's Kid Repeats as Maryland-Bred HOY

Son of Lemon Drop Kid also voted champion older male for second straight year.

Millionaire Richard's Kid  has repeated as Maryland-bred Horse of the Year and champion older male of 2010 in the annual poll conducted by the Maryland Horse Breeders Association. It was the second year in a row he has earned those honors.

Bred by Robert E. Meyerhoff’s Fitzhugh LLC at Fitzhugh Farm in Phoenix, Md., the son of Lemon Drop Kid —Tough Broad, by Broad Brush) is trained by Bob Baffert for Zebeel Racing Interntional.

In 2010, Richards’ Kid won the Pacific Classic Presented by TVG and the Goodwood Stakes, both grade I, and San Antonio (gr. II) in five starts, with two thirds in graded stakes. He improved his record to nine wins in 27 starts and earnings of $1,716,370 before being sent to his owner’s home country of Dubai for a 2011 campaign.
