Jestatune topped the Oakland Park Stud broodmare dispersal during the first session of the Magic Millions Perth autumn Thoroughbred sale March 26 in Australia. Magic Millions, acting as agent for a Western Australian client, purchased the 7-year-old daughter of Rory’s Jester and the Umatilla mare Umatune for Aust$190,000 ($194,336 in U.S. funds).
Jestatune, who was cataloged as being in foal to Fast ‘n’ Famous, won four of her 20 career races. She captured the J.B. O’Reilleys Gimcrack Stakes in Australia in 2007. She was among the seven horses that were sold for Aust$100,000 ($102,282) apiece or more.
The Oakland Park Stud dispersal grossed Aust$1,672,000 ($1,710,160) and had a clearance rate of 96.8%, with 30 of the 31 horses offered finding new homes. The average price was Aust$55,733 ($57,005).
"Rarely do buyers get such an opportunity to compete for an outstanding line-up of breeding prospects," Magic Millions acting managing director David Chester said. "The line-up included top young stakes-performed mares as well as proven stakes producers."
