TVG’s innovative Late DDouble show, which boosted handle in the late double wagering pool in its inaugural season in 2010, returns April 15 from Keeneland. The show will feature the Maker’s Mark Mile (gr. IT).
Hosting the Late DDouble show from Keeneland will be Greg Wolf, Christina Olivares, Michelle Yu, Dave Weaver, and Tim Bader.
“Unlike TVG’s other programming that caters to the avid players and horseracing fan, the Late DDouble show was designed to appeal to a young demographic and to bring more females to our audience,” said Tony Allevato, TVG senior vice president and executive producer, in a release. “We were very pleased that the show delivered that audience last year, and look forward to expanding its reach in 2011.”
As in 2010, this year’s shows will air on Fridays and will cover the day’s last two races, termed the late daily double. It will once again feature games with contests, trivia, Top 40 music with a live DJ, and a younger vibe.
The Keeneland show’s segments will include “Young Guns,” a feature on Ben Creed, the 27-year-old jockey who was the leading rider at the recently concluded Turfway Park winter/spring meet, his second riding title at the Florence, Ky., racetrack.
In addition to Keeneland, TVG’s Late DDouble show will air from Hollywood Park (June 17-July 15, every Friday night) and Del Mar (July 22-Sept. 2, twilight racing). The California shows will also include segments from Los Alamitos Race Track.
