Six horses set the pace at an eighth of a mile May 18 during the first session of the under tack show for the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic sale of 2-year-olds in training in Maryland. They each posted a time of :10 1/5 over Timonium’s dirt track.
The group included an Eddington – Gottah Penny filly and a Latent Heat– Perfect Wave filly, which are consigned by Mountain View Sales, agent; a Henny Hughes – Hi Lili colt consigned by Hartley/De Renzo Thoroughbreds, agent; and a Grand Slam – Kumari Continent filly consigned by de Meric Sales, agent. The others were a Badge of Silver – Jasmine and Jewels filly and a Street Sense – Polish Nana filly, which are consigned by Eisaman Equine, agent.
Four horses led the way at a quarter mile, each covering the distance in :21 3/5. They were Eden’s Moon, a Malibu Moon – Eden’s Causeway filly consigned by Bridlewood Farm, agent; an Any Given Saturday – Fabulous Finish colt and a Half Ours – Hipocrite colt, which are consigned by Wavertree Stables, agent; and Hymn Special, a Songandaprayer – Nothing Special colt consigned by Off The Hook, agent.
A Giant's Causeway – Fantasy Royale colt and a Johannesburg – Lady Nichola filly were the fastest workers at three furlongs, each turning in a time of :34 2/5. The Giant’s Causeway colt is consigned by Bobby Dodd, agent, and the Johannesburg filly is consigned by Pike Racing, agent for Spendthrift Farm.
The second session of the under tack show is scheduled for May 19, beginning at 9:30 a.m. (EDT). The sale will be held May 23 and 24 with each session starting at 10 a.m.
