Morning Line Gearing Up for Whitney

Grade i winner turned in solid work June 17 at Saratoga.

Grade I winner Morning Line  continued to gear up for his summer campaign in New York with a solid work on June 17 at Saratoga.

Morning Line, a 4-year-old son of Tiznow , breezed five furlongs in 1:01.77 over the Saratoga training track, the fastest of four works at the distance. It was his second consecutive work this month after having no official works since May 5.
“The work was very good,” said Zito. “He looked super and we were very happy.”
Morning Line, winner of the April 9 Carter Handicap (gr. I) at Aqueduct, is getting ready for a start in the $750,000 Whitney Handicap (gr. I) Aug. 6. The 1 1/8-mile Whitney distance is one at which the colt has already conquered, taking last year’s Pennsylvania Derby (gr. II) by a neck.
On June 18 at Saratoga, Florida Derby (gr. I) winner Dialed In  is expected to have his first official workout since a fourth-place finish in the May 21 Preakness (gr. I).
According to Zito, the 3-year-old Mineshaft  colt’s summer campaign will include starts in the $500,000 Jim Dandy (gr. II) July 30 and $1 million Travers (gr. I) Aug. 27, both at Saratoga.
