Bernstein Colt Sells for $300,000 at OBS

Colt breezed an eighth of a mile in 10 seconds flat.

A Bernstein colt sold for $300,000 to top the first session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co.’s June sale of 2-year-olds in training and horses of racing age. Consigned by Robert Brewer, the colt, out of Within, by Rahy, was bought by Patrice Miller EQB. He breezed an eighth of a mile in :10 flat, co-fastest work at the distance at last Saturday’s under tack session.

For the Tuesday, June 21, session, 159 horses sold for a total of $3,484,000. The average was $21,912 with a $10,000 median price. The buyback percentage was 34.3%.

French Breeze, a filly by Elusive Quality consigned by Paul Sharp, agent, brought the second-highest price. She was purchased by Justice Family Racing for $220,000. The filly, out of stakes placed Di’s Delight, by French Deputy, worked an eighth at Saturday’s under tack session  in :10 flat.

Allen’s Charm, a colt by Congrats , consigned by Eddie Woods, agent, was sold to James Divito, agent, for $175,000. The colt, who worked an eighth in :10 2/5 Saturday, is out of Allen’s Ms, by Allens’s Prospect, a half sister to graded stakes winner Love of Money.

Justice Family Racing went to $150,000 for Leroy Jr., a colt by Leroidesanimaux out of graded stakes winner Booly, by Apalachee, consigned by Hoppel’s Horse and Cattle Co., agent. The colt worked an eighth of a mile on Saturday in :10 flat.

A filly by Corinthian consigned by Tradewinds Farm, agent, went to Kyle Kaenel for $130,000. Out of Gala Secreta, by Spinning World, a half sister to graded stakes winner Dubleo, the filly breezed an eighth of a mile in :10 2/5.

A colt by More Than Ready  consigned by McKathan Bros., agent, was sold to Patrice Miller EQB, agent, for $100,000. The colt, who worked an eighth in :10 1/5, is out of Designatoree, by Alysheba, and is a half brother to graded stakes winner Voice of Destiny.

Lou Dunn Diekemper went to $100,000 for a Harlan's Holiday filly consigned by Costanzo Sales. The filly, who worked an eighth in :10 2/5, is out of stakes winner Homemaker, by Afternoon Deelites.

The June Sale’s second and final session (Hip No.'s 313 – 623) begins Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m.
