Defer's First Winner Scores at Saratoga

Defer's first winner, Princess Phoebe, won at Saratoga in her second start.

Graded stakes winner Defer sired his first winner when his 2-year-old daughter Princess Phoebe won a maiden special weight race at Saratoga Aug. 29. Princess Phoebe captured the 5 1/2-furlong race in 1:06.85 by a length in her second start. She races for Soave Stables, Lee Sacks, and Entourage Stable.

Bred in New York by Jump Start Partnership, Princess Phoebe is the first foal from the Jump Start  mare Nick’s Honor, who is out of stakes-placed Gaye’s Express.

Winner of the Laurel Futurity (gr. III), Defer (Danzig—Hidden Reserve, by Mr. Prospector) began his stallion career at Empire Stud near Hudson, N.Y. He later was moved to Chile.
