Hilda's Passion Headed to F-T November Sale

She won the Ballerina Stakes (gr. I) in August at Saratoga Race Course.

Hilda's Passion, winner of the Aug. 27 Ballerina Stakes (gr. I), will be offered as a racing or broodmare prospect during the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky November select mixed sale even though she has suffered an injury. The auction will be held Nov. 6 in Lexington.

A condylar facture was discovered in Hilda’s Passion’s right foreleg the day after her 9 1/4-length Ballerina victory and she underwent surgery to repair the break. The 4-year-old daughter of Canadian Frontier is owned by Starlight Partners and C.E. Glasscock.

She will be offered by Taylor Made Sales Agency.

“It was always our plan to put Hilda’s Passion through the sales ring in 2011,” said Starlight’s Jack Wolf. “Dr. Larry Bramlage, who performed this routine surgery in late August, says that bringing her to the sale in November will not compromise her comfort or safety in any way.”

Produced from the El Prado mare Executricker, Hilda’s Passion has won eight of her 14 career races and has earned $739,493. Her efforts this year include victories in the Inside Information Stakes (gr. II), Vagrancy Handicap (gr. II), and Hurricane Bertie Stakes (gr. III). She captured the Lexington Raven Run Stakes (gr. II) and Bennington Stakes in 2010.

“Hilda’s Passion came out of her surgery perfectly, the condylar fracture reduced completely, and her joint is back to normal,” Bramlage said. “After a two-to-three month healing process, we fully anticipate she will be capable of regaining her previous form.”

Ted and Betsy Kuster bred Hilda’s Passion in Kentucky. Todd Pletcher has trained the bay filly for much of her career.
