Donegal Racing announced Sept. 9 that Julie Cauthen has been named chief operating officer for the racing partnership.
Cauthen, of Lexington, has served in a variety of positions within the Thoroughbred industry including senior analyst for EQUIX Biomechanics, director of 2-year-olds in training sales for Reynolds Bell Thoroughbred Services, and as owner of Julia O. Cauthen Bloodstock, a bloodstock consulting service. She is a fourth generation horseman with strong ties to her family's Nuckols Farm in Midway, Ky. She is the current president of the Thoroughbred Club of America.
“We are delighted to have Julie on board with us,” Donegal president Jerry Crawford said. “Donegal has had a lot of success in a short time and we needed to bring on someone of Julie's caliber to keep us headed in the right direction.”
