Leon Picks Up Street Cry Colt for $925,000

The colt is out of champion and multiple grade I winner Hollywood Wildcat.

Benjamin Leon Jr., owner of Besilu Stables, paid $925,000 for a son of Street Cry out of the 3-year-old champion and Breeders' Cup Distaff (gr. I) winner Hollywood Wildcat.

The dark bay or brown colt was sold by Taylor Made Sales Agency, as agent for Irving Cowan, who bred and raced Hollywood Wildcat. She has been an outstanding broodmare, having produced grade I winner War Chant and stakes winners Ivan Denisovich, Ministers Wild Cat, and Double Cat.

During last year’s Keeneland September select sessions, Leon bought an A.P. Indy colt sold for $4.2 million, paying the highest price at the auction since Meydan City sold for $11.7 million in 2006.
