Here Comes Ben, a grade I winner at Saratoga, has been retired from racing. He made his last start in the James Marvin Stakes at Saratoga, finishing fourth. Breeding plans for the 5-year-old son of Street Cry have not been made.
A three-time stakes winner, Here Comes Ben registered his biggest win in the 2010 Forego Stakes (gr. I) at Saratoga in his graded stakes debut, defeating Big Drama, Vineyard Haven, Warrior's Reward , Girolamo, and Bribon. He also won consecutive runnings of the Kelly’s Landing Stakes at Churchill Downs.
Bred and raced by Brandon and Marianne Chase, Here Come Ben was retired with seven wins from 17 starts and earnings of $410,764. He was trained by Charles Lopresti.
A Kentucky-bred, Here Comes Ben is out of the winning Dayjur mare Chasetheragingwind, who is a half sister to French champion King Charlemagne, English group winner Meshaheer, and the dam of grade I winner and Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile winner Albertus Maximus . Here Come Ben’s second dam is grade I winner Race the Wild Wind.
