Four D Stable’s Kentucky homebred Turallure continued his preparations for an expected run in the TVG Breeders’ Cup Mile (gr. IT) Nov. 5 at Churchill Downs by working five furlongs on the Keeneland grass in 1:01 4/5 Oct. 13 with jockey Julien Leparoux up.
With the temporary rail up and the “dogs” out, Turallure, a 4-year-old son of Wando, worked on his own in fractions of :12 2/5, :25, :50 and out six furlongs in 1:14.20. The course was rated as firm topped by light moisture from intermittent showers during training hours.
“That was all we wanted,” trainer Charles Loprestri said. “I got his last eighth in :11 and change. I was glad to get a little cut in the ground this morning.”
Winner of the Ricoh Woodbine Mile (Can-IT) that earned him a spot in the Breeders’ Cup, Turallure had worked an easy half-mile in :50 on the main track at Keeneland Oct. 4. In all, he holds a record of 6-2-3 from 15 starts for earnings of $907,465.
