Morris New CEO of Australian Organization

Chauncey Morris has overseen Keeneland’s efforts to expand Thoroughbred ownership.

Chauncey Morris, a sales marketing associate who has overseen Keeneland’s efforts to expand Thoroughbred ownership internationally and domestically, has been named chief executive officer of Thoroughbred Breeders of Australia and its sister organization, Aushorse.

Beginning in 2002, Morris worked with Keeneland on behalf of the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association/Kentucky Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders to establish an emerging markets program. He joined Keeneland’s staff in 2006 and is credited with successfully implementing a worldwide strategy to expand Thoroughbred ownership. According to a Keeneland release, his efforts have helped expand Keeneland’s reach to nearly all 50 states, 48 countries and six continents.

“We appreciate the outstanding work he has done on behalf of Keeneland and the industry and wish him the best as he begins his new position. The TBA is fortunate to add him to its team,” Keeneland vice president of sales Walt Robertson said in a release.

Morris will remain in his role at Keeneland through mid-November.

“Chauncey has laid a great foundation for us and we remain fully committed to continuing this important initiative,” said director of sales Geoffrey Russell.
