Sale Mares Come With Access to Kitten's Joy

Purchasers of Cardinalli, Blush can breed them in 2012 to Kitten's Joy for free.

As part of its boutique “Kitten's Joy ” consignment at the upcoming Fasig-Tipton November select mixed sale, Ken and Sarah Ramsey’s Ramsey Farm will offer the buyers of Cardinalli and Blush the opportunity to breed the mares to Kitten’s Joy in 2012 at no additional cost.

Cardinalli, a winning 10-year-old daughter of Capote, is the dam of Banned (by Kitten’s Joy), winner of the 2011 Del Mar Derby (gr. IIT), American Turf Stakes (gr. IIT), and Jefferson Cup Stakes (gr. IIIT). Blush, 10-year-old winning daughter of Menifee, is the dam of Derby Kitten (by Kitten’s Joy), who captured this year’s Coolmore Lexington Stakes (gr. III) and Ontario Derby. Blush also is the dam of Louisiana Downs stakes winner William's Kitten (by Kitten’s Joy).

Both Cardinalli and Blush are in foal to Kitten’s Joy.

“These top producing mares, accompanied by the right to breed back to Kitten’s Joy in 2012, represent a fantastic package to prospective buyers,” said Fasig-Tipton president Boyd Browning. “Kitten’s Joy is one of the great stallions in the world today, and these mares have already produced graded stakes winners on the Kitten’s Joy cross. This is the first instance of which I can recall that one can purchase a mare carrying a full-sibling to a graded stakes winner, along with the extra incentive to breed that mare back to that stallion again. Mr. Ramsey is offering a tremendous opportunity here, and we are grateful he has chosen to do so at our November sale.”

Kitten’s Joy is the leading third crop sire this year based on progeny earnings, stakes winners, and stakes victories.

Ramsey Farm’s boutique Fasig-Tipton November consignment also includes two Kitten’s Joy weanlings–a colt and a filly.

The Fasig-Tipton auction will be held Nov. 6 at the company's Newtown Paddocks complex in Lexington. It will start at 4 p.m. (EST).
