The Ontario division of the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society has cataloged 185 lots for its winter mixed sale and supplemental entries are still being accepted. The auction will be held Nov. 26 at Woodbine, beginning at 1 p.m. EST.
Entered in the sale are mares in foal to such stallions as Bold Executive, Milwaukee Brew , Mobil , Old Forester , Philanthropist, Sligo Bay , Wando, and Where's the Ring. Stallions with yearlings or weanlings in the auction include Langfuhr , Milwaukee Brew, Old Forester, Peaks and Valleys, Philanthropist, Sligo Bay, Trajectory, and Where’s the Ring.
Julie Coulter, general manager of the CTHS, pointed out that buyers of Ontario-bred horses in the sale will be able to take advantage of the province’s Thoroughbred Improvement Program (TIP).
“With the $21 million (Canadian funds) TIP, sale patrons will have access to one of the most lucrative incentive programs in North America for purses and incentives,” she said.
Weanling and yearling graduates of the sale will be eligible to take part in the six Sales Stakes offered at Woodbine featuring $900,000 in purses.
Horses will be available for inspection on the sale grounds starting Nov. 25 at 9 a.m.
